Until we get there

Stop using the sink or tub that's backing up. If more than one drain is slow, hold off on laundry and showers too.

Until we get there

If the tank is leaking, shut the cold water valve going into it. If you know the age of the heater and the type (electric, gas, etc.), have that handy.

We work on water softeners too. If you know the brand, have it handy when you call.

Turn the small valve behind the toilet clockwise to stop the water.

Shut off your main water valve, or if you have a dedicated valve feeding that faucet, shut that off.

If water is rising, move what you can off the floor and stay away from wet outlets.

Jay Jatho started Jatho Plumbing in 1996 out of a house in Columbia. He still runs it today from our office in Millstadt, alongside his wife Becky and their sons Jordan and Justin.
